Responsibilities
- Provide direct NICU nursing care for neonates, including continuous monitoring, physiologic assessment, ventilator support, line management, and nutrition administration.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed; document findings accurately in the medical record; participate in rounds and care planning with the multidisciplinary team.
- Respond to neonatal emergencies, support resuscitation efforts, and assist with deliveries for neonatal resuscitation as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the NICU team; support family education and involvement in care planning; ensure infection control and patient safety standards are met.
- Participate in unit operations during night shifts and rotating days; assist with documentation, charting, and readiness for transports or handoffs as part of a high-acuity NICU team.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years NICU experience; Level 3 NICU experience preferred
- Certifications: AHA BLS, PALS, and NRP required
- Preferred: RNC or CCRN certification
- Preferred experience: Neonatal transport; participation in deliveries for neonatal resuscitation
- Ability to work in a NICU setting with rotating night shift and hospital-based protocols
