Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) is sought for a travel assignment in Utica, New York. The role starts on 10/11/2026 for a 16-week engagement in a hospital-based ED. Compensaton is $2,371–$2,458 per week. This day shift position requires floating across the ED and may involve variable scheduling; block scheduling is not guaranteed. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to diverse ED patients, including adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics, in a high-acuity environment
- Assess, triage, monitor, and reassess patient conditions; respond to urgent changes and collaborate on rapid interventions
- Administer medications and perform procedures within the RN scope; manage IVs and access lines as needed
- Document care in the electronic medical record (EPIC); communicate clearly with physicians, specialists, and ancillary teams
- Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and transition of care; participate in continuous quality improvement and safety initiatives
- Float across ED as required; maintain competency across units and adapt to fluctuating patient volumes
Requirements
- Licensure: Active New York RN license; NURSYS license verification required; ALL RN licenses must be listed; RTO (reasonable time off) must be included at submission
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC required to be in hand
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years in an emergency department; pediatric exposure preferred; travel experience required and documented on resume
- EMR: EPIC experience required
- Additional: Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics; ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment; local residency within 75 miles may qualify for local rate in some circumstances; RN education from an accredited program
- Documentation: Up-to-date resume; ability to provide references and verification of prior travel assignments
