Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients, monitoring maternal and fetal status and coordinating with the obstetric team.
- Administer medications, manage labor analgesia, monitor labor progress, and respond to obstetric emergencies with clinical judgment.
- Monitor fetal status and assist with neonatal resuscitation as needed; collaborate with NICU staff for Level II nursery patients and related newborn care.
- Supervise and support assigned nursing staff, delegate tasks appropriately, and ensure safe, evidence-based care delivery.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams; provide education on childbirth, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care; participate in discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to a healing, patient-centered environment.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California required).
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two years of recent obstetric/L&D experience.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; CPR or equivalent acceptable per policy; Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Level II NICU experience required for the day shift.
- Ability to work in an acute care hospital setting and adapt to a fast-paced obstetric unit.
