Registered Nurse, Med Surg Tele – Burlington, Vermont, United States

This travel assignment requires floating to central Med/Surg/Telemetry units as needed. A current license on file at the time of submission is required, and you must be prepared to begin within the next week. Prior travel experience and facility-wide adaptability in a large teaching environment are highly valued.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, expert nursing care for adult patients on medical-surgical and telemetry units
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform treatments, and document in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Float to central Med/Surg/Telemetry units as assigned, maintaining patient safety and workflow efficiency
- Educate patients and families on procedures, discharge plans, and follow-up care
- Ensure accuracy in charting and compliance with unit policies and protocols
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Vermont (license on file at submission)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Minimum 2 years of unit experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, or related acute care settings
- Experience in large teaching facilities preferred
- Ability to float to Med/Surg/Telemetry units and adapt to changing schedules
- Reliable transportation to and from work; public transportation may not be available in the area
- Education: current RN prepared to work in a hospital setting (degree per state requirements)
