Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – PCU (Travel) in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date: 07/20/2026 for a 13-week assignment in a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit with telemetry. Weekly pay: $1,861 to $1,864 per week. Guaranteed hours: none. Shift: 36 hours per week following orientation; no call. This travel assignment involves float to all acute units as needed, with primary nursing care and telemetry duties in a 15-bed PCU, 3-step-down ICU, and 12-telemetry layout.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using primary nursing practices in the PCU and related acute units; monitor continuous cardiac telemetry and read telemetry strips; perform fingerstick glucose testing
- Administer medications and manage unit supplies using Meditech for charting and Pyxis for meds; assist with BIPAP as needed
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, respond to changes in clinical status, and document care plans and progress in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education; ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols
- Float to other acute units in-house as needed (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER) with appropriate orientation and competency maintenance
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license by start date
- Minimum 1 year hospital acute care experience within the last 12 months
- Certifications: ACLS preferred, PALS preferred, NIHSS preferred
- Education: graduation from an approved RN program with current RN licensure in Hawaii
- Ability to work in a high-acuity hospital setting and float to multiple acute units; strong telemetry monitoring and documentation skills
