Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Registered Nurse – PACU, Travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii, United States. Start date 07/20/2026 for a 13-week contract in a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $1,913 to $1,999. Shifts are rotating with hours worked per two-week period and no guarantee of hours or shift preference. Hawaii license must be active by start date. A flu vaccination or facility-approved medical/religious exemption is required prior to contract start date.

Responsibilities
- Provide care for pre-operative patients and Phase I/II post-anesthesia recovery
- Monitor vital signs, incision sites, body temperature, and stability; identify and respond to potential complications
- Administer medications and IV therapy per orders; operate PCA pumps and related equipment
- Utilize unit technologies (Meditech, Pyxis, Braun IV pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, warming devices) and document in the patient record
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and nursing staff; participate in handoffs and ensure patient safety and comfort
- Manage transitions of care from PACU to appropriate post-anesthesia pathways; respond to urgent changes in patient status
Requirements
- Hawaii RN license active by start date (must obtain if not already held)
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- PALS recommended and may be required for specific travel positions
- 2+ years of critical care RN experience (ER/ICU) in a hospital setting; may substitute for PACU experience
- Ability to work in a PACU/hospital setting; willingness to cover rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Education
- Active RN license in Hawaii by start date; graduation from an approved nursing program
