Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned group of ER patients following established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other health professionals.
- Supervise and direct nursing staff as appropriate and collaborate across disciplines to ensure safe, healing care.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide patient and family education to support ongoing recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the patient record and uphold safety, infection control, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Active RN license for the state of practice (California) and in good standing.
- BLS/CPR certification from an approved vendor; additional CPR certification accepted as applicable.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required (AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS).
- Minimum of two years of recent ER or acute care nursing experience.
- BSN is preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER environment and on a night shift.
