Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care to students according to school health policies and clinical standards
- Administer prescribed medications and document administration accurately
- Assess student health concerns, triage illnesses and injuries, and provide first aid as needed
- Maintain medical records, track immunizations, and communicate with families and school staff as appropriate
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and external healthcare providers while maintaining student privacy and confidentiality
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures; participate in drills as required
Requirements
- Active LPN license in Vermont or eligible for Vermont licensure
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program (LPN)
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain quickly
- Experience in pediatric or school health settings preferred
- Ability to pass required school district background checks and health screenings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work effectively in a school environment
