Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) in San Luis Obispo, CA. This travel assignment starts 05/11/2026 for a 13-week duration in a Short Term Acute Care setting. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to labor, delivery, and postpartum patients, and support the newborn in the immediate postnatal period
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpret fetal monitoring when applicable, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer prescribed medications and interventions per protocol, and document care in the electronic medical record
- Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including assistive support during delivery and immediate newborn assessment and care
- Collaborate with obstetric, neonatal, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care and patient education
- Maintain infection control standards, patient safety, and comfort, and respond to emergencies in a timely manner
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Experience: 2 years of L&D experience required; at least 3 months of recent experience in the specialty
- Education: Graduation from an approved RN program (credentials to practice as a registered nurse in California)
- Ability to work in a labor and delivery environment and adapt to a fast-paced, unit-needs-driven schedule
