Travel Physical Therapist Job
Physical Therapist | Travel assignment | San Luis Obispo, CA | Start 05/26/2026 | 13 weeks | $2,258–$2,274 per week | Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed | Shift: 5x8s (days) with M-F coverage and every 3rd or 4th Sat/Sun; additional weekend shifts possible on request | Short-term acute care setting. The role requires California PT licensure and BLS, with Cerner documentation experience required and Epic experience a plus. This is a travel - temporary assignment with 5x8 day shifts in an acute care environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive PT evaluations for adult and geriatric patients in an acute care setting and develop individualized discharge-focused treatment plans
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercises, gait/transfer training, manual therapy, balance and mobility training, and edema management
- Document patient progress and care plans in the Cerner system; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on home programs, activity modification, and safety to support safe transitions of care
- Monitor safety, infection control, and compliance with regulatory standards; adapt plans based on patient response and emerging needs
- Support care transitions and collaborate with nursing, medicine, and therapy colleagues for timely and safe patient discharges
Requirements
- Active California Physical Therapy license (PT) and BLS certification
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent
- Cerner experience required; Epic experience a plus
- 1 year acute care experience preferred; 2+ years of travel acute care experience acceptable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment and to travel to the assignment location as required
