Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients, including initial assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapy, wound care, and routine treatments per policy
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; provide patient-family education
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure compliance with Maine State Standard and facility policies
- Respond rapidly in emergencies; maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control
- Monitor patient condition changes and assist with discharge planning and referrals
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Maine RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg or acute care RN experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN)
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills; proficient with electronic medical records
