Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult patients on a medical step-down unit, with up to a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Assess and monitor patients, interpret findings, initiate appropriate interventions, and administer medications as ordered.
- Manage IV therapy, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex clinical needs for conditions such as Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Substance abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, pharmacists, and respiratory therapy to develop and adjust care plans and support safe transitions of care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure adherence to patient safety, infection control, and unit protocols.
- Respond to clinical changes and emergencies per unit guidelines; maintain ACLS/BLS readiness and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in Georgia (or appropriatelicensure per Job Notes requirements)
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a medical-surgical or step-down/unit with high-acuity patients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting and participate in a 2x4 day shift schedule
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and manage complex patient needs
