Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations across assigned modalities per department protocols, including patient preparation and positioning.
- Optimize images, document technical findings, and ensure accurate measurements for radiologists and clinicians.
- Document procedures and findings in the electronic medical record (Cerner) and communicate results to radiologists or ordering providers as required.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, perform routine quality assurance, and uphold safety and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with the imaging team and physicians; participate in on-call coverage and weekend scheduling as required (US on-call 1931-0700; weekend coverage 1931-0700).
- Contribute to patient care by explaining procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining professional conduct in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in performing ultrasound examinations with proper technique and image optimization.
- Ability to work in a hospital imaging environment with 12-hour day shifts; available for on-call and weekend coverage.
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Mach7 PACS for ordering, documentation, and image management.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach.
- Prior ultrasound imaging experience; willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment.
- Flexibility to work the specified schedule and adapt to a dynamic imaging department.
