Responsibilities
- Administer the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide non-complex active and passive manual therapies, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, cold, electrical modalities, and other specified modalities as directed.
- Document patient status daily, weekly, or monthly and submit clinical paperwork on time each week.
- Attend educational meetings and contribute to department in-services.
- Notify the Physical Therapist, Clinical Manager, or Clinical Director of equipment issues, supply shortages, staff or client changes, and other departmental updates.
- Schedule clients and perform varied office tasks; maintain infection control and universal precautions.
- Accept clinical assignments appropriate to education and competence; support compliance with third-party payors as needed.
- Maintain professional boundaries and collaborate with the care team to meet patient needs and psychosocial goals.
Requirements
- Active state license to practice Physical Therapy (Tennessee) – Required
- Current CPR certification – Required
- Current driver’s license – Required
- Reliable transportation and proof of insurance – Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant – Required
- Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program – Required
