This assignment is an emergency department role within a hospital setting. The RN serves as a key member of the patient care team, delivering direct and indirect care across the unit. The role includes patient assessment on admission and throughout the stay, IV administration, patient education, and thorough documentation of nursing actions and patient responses. The position may involve charge nurse and preceptor responsibilities if needed.

- Travel assignment with residency requirements: Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Scheduling and shift flexibility: The facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract

Responsibilities
- Assess patients at admission and throughout the stay, prioritizing safety and timely care
- Administer IV medications, therapies, and blood products as indicated; monitor responses and adjust care as needed
- Perform ongoing patient monitoring, triage, and escalation of care for rapidly changing conditions
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
- Document nursing actions, teaching, observations, and patient responses in the medical record
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; participate in on-unit coverage as needed, including potential charge nurse and preceptor roles

Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in the ED setting
- At least 1 year of previous critical care nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Willing and able to serve in charge nurse and preceptor roles if needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius for travel eligibility
- Background and licensure considerations: travelers with hits/actions on license/background will not be accepted
- The RN will be accountable for ensuring patient care quality and safety across admission and ongoing care
