Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services per the plan of care under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist; implement and adjust interventions as prescribed.
- Facilitate therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility training to improve functional outcomes.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising PT and multi-disciplinary team.
- Assist with positioning, transfers, and activities of daily living (ADL) training; ensure patient safety and proper body mechanics.
- Maintain accurate charting and documentation in the patient record; adhere to facility policies and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to coordinate care and adjust plans of care as needed.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Active PTA license or eligibility to practice as a PTA (state-specific requirements applied as applicable).
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility setting and follow a patient-centered care plan.
- Availability to maintain 35 hours per week in a 5x8 day shift schedule (08:00–16:30).
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment of approximately 13 weeks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to document clearly and collaborate with the care team.
