Responsibilities
- Provide registered nursing care to ER patients across age groups, including triage, assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans based on the nursing process and input from patients and families, aligned with the medical plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians and the broader healthcare team to coordinate delivery of care and ensure timely treatment of trauma and emergency cases.
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, perform procedures within scope, and document patient status and responses in the medical record.
- Educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning to support safe transitions of care.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to nursing assistive personnel according to competency and scope of practice.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California or eligibility to practice in California.
- ER nursing experience preferred.
- Minimum education: ADN or BSN in Nursing.
- Ability to work night shifts and thrive in a fast-paced ER environment.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan.
