Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Med-Surgical, high-acuity) | Atlanta, Georgia, United States | Start 06/01/2026 | 8 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours per week | Shift: 2x3 Days | Travel - Temporary Assignment
This travel RN position supports a high-acuity medical-surgical floor with trauma and surgical patients. The assignment requires EPIC charting, BLS, and strong clinical judgment to care for complex cases on a fast-paced unit.

- Weekly pay: $1,557–$1,612 per week
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week

- Setting: high-acuity med-surg unit with trauma and surgical patients
- EMR: EPIC experience required
- Scheduling note: no scheduled time off (no RTO) during the assignment
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to high-acuity med-surg patients, including spinal neuro trauma and post-surgical cases
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor and interpret patient data, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; escalate as needed
- document accurately and timely in the EPIC EMR; participate in nurse handoff to ED and admitting units
- Collaborate with Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and a night unit secretary to ensure patient flow and accurate patient ratios (target 5:1 where applicable)
- Participate in care planning, patient education, and discharge planning; respond to emergencies per policy and RCU standards
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in Georgia (multi-state licensure acceptable per scope)
- Minimum 2 years of med-surg or high-acuity specialty experience
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; eligible for Georgia licensure
- Ability to work a 36-hour minimum weekly schedule on a 2x3 day shift; able to work in a high-acuity setting
- Willingness to work given shifts; no planned time off during the assignment
