Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Registered Nurse - OB in a hospital setting (antepartum/antenatal and postpartum/postnatal care) in Hanford, California. Travel assignment starts 06/01/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,321 to $2,479 per week. Shift is nights, 3x12-hour blocks. This unit serves maternity patients and normal newborns; gynecology is excluded and labor and delivery are not part of this department. The role involves coordinating care according to established nursing standards and supervising other nursing staff on the unit.

Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the antepartum/antenatal and postpartum/postnatal period, following the nursing process and established standards of care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications and interventions as ordered, and document findings accurately.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff on the unit, ensuring safe, evidence-based care and appropriate delegation.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatal staff, and other disciplines to coordinate comprehensive care plans for maternity patients and normal newborns.
- Provide education to patients and families on postpartum and newborn care, discharge planning, and safety considerations.
- Maintain high standards of infection control, patient safety, and quality of care through accurate charting and compliance with policies.
Requirements
- Ability to care for antepartum/antenatal and postpartum/postnatal patients and normal newborns in a high-acuity setting.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and judgment to support interdisciplinary care.
- Effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team; teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work night shift and 12-hour blocks; flexibility to respond to patient needs across the assignment.
- Commitment to following established standards of care, documentation practices, and unit policies.
