Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job
Registered Nurse, First Assist (RNFA) – Travel assignment in Columbia, MO. Start date 05/11/2026 for a 13-week contract. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Shift: 4x10-hour days (0645–1715). This CVOR-focused RN First Assistant role supports cardiovascular surgery by providing direct assistance to surgeons during procedures, including endovascular and open vascular work, vein harvest, and thoracic cases.

Responsibilities
- Serve as direct assistant to CVOR surgeons during cardiovascular procedures in the operating room
- Perform tasks such as controlling bleeding, providing wound exposure, suturing, and tissue handling
- Be proficient in CABG, MVR, TAVR, AVR, as well as open and endovascular leg vein harvest
- Participate in endoluminal AAA repair and all thoracic vascular procedures; CEAs and other vascular cases
- Assist with instrument handling, sterile technique, case setup, and room turnover
- Support patient safety and quality outcomes throughout perioperative care
Requirements
- Active, current RN license (Missouri)
- RN First Assistant (RNFA) certification
- 2–3 years of CVOR RNFA experience
- Ability to work in a CVOR setting with 4x10-hour daytime shifts (0645–1715)
- On-call availability: approximately 10 days per month
- Proficient in cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures listed above
