Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job
Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) for cardiovascular operating room support in Columbia, Missouri. Travel - temporary assignment starting 05/26/2026 for 13 weeks. Guaranteed 40 hours per week with a weekly pay range of $2,829 to $3,009. Shift schedule is 4 consecutive 10-hour days (0645–1715). The assignment involves direct assistance in CVOR and related vascular procedures, with no weekend shifts in the standard schedule.

Responsibilities
- Serve as direct assistant to CVOR surgeons during cardiovascular and vascular procedures, providing scrub and intraoperative support
- Assist with exposure, hemostasis, tissue handling, suturing, and instrument/implant management; maintain sterile technique and patient safety
- Perform endovascular and open vein harvests as required; participate in endoluminal and open vascular procedures
- Assist with CABG, MVR, TAVR, AVR, and other CV/vascular cases including endovascular aneurysm repairs and thoracic vascular procedures; CEAs and related vascular tasks
- Prepare and position patients, drape and set up equipment, and manage intraoperative equipment and supplies; document intraoperative events as needed
- Participate in on-call coverage (10 days per month) and support call requirements; note that weekends are not part of the standard schedule
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- RN First Assistant (RNFA) certification
- 2–3 years of RNFA or CVOR experience
- Proficiency in CVOR/vascular surgical assistance, including endo and open vein harvest
- Ability to work in a cardiovascular operating room environment and support complex surgical cases
- Willingness to work 4x10-hour shifts (0645–1715) with on-call responsibilities; no weekend shifts in the standard schedule
