Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse – Emergency Room in Olathe, Kansas. Travel assignment beginning 08/02/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,049 to $2,113. Guaranteed hours: 0. Shift: 3x12-hour rotating (evenings and nights). Setting: a short-term acute care hospital ER with a 29-bed ED, a chest pain center and primary stroke center, handling an ED daily volume around 120 patients. The role includes caring for ED patients and inpatient boarders within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ED, including rapid assessment, triage, continuous monitoring, and timely interventions
- Administer medications, start IV therapy, manage oxygen delivery, perform ECGs, and assist with procedures as directed
- Partner with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to stabilize patients, manage chest pain and stroke protocols, and coordinate admissions, transfers, or discharges
- Monitor and document patient status in the electronic health record; ensure accurate charting, medication reconciliation, and patient safety
- Manage inpatient boarders within the ED as needed; maintain throughput and patient flow while adhering to infection control and safety standards
- Maintain composure and professional communication during high-acuity events; respond to emergencies and escalate as required, while complying with unit and hospital policies
- Adhere to shift expectations and unit guidelines; will not float to other units
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas or multi-state licensure
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS and Conscious Sedation Competency required; TNCC preferred
- Experience: minimum 1 year of ED experience within the last 12 months; 2 years preferred
- Education: graduation from an accredited RN program with current licensure
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts; rotating evenings and nights; weekend shifts required (up to 3 per pay period)
- Credentialing notes: KS or Multi-State RN license; required certifications listed above; credentials due Monday one week prior to Start
- Additional notes: non-float policy to other units; comfortable caring for inpatient boarders and adapting to rapid changes in patient volume
