Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Pre-op / PACU Registered Nurse (PACU) | Newport, Vermont, United States | Start May 25, 2026 | 13-week travel assignment | Weekly pay range: $2,366 - $2,444 per week | Guaranteed 40 hours/week | Day shift | Inpatient perioperative care in a small rural hospital setting. This position includes five 8-hour days per week with an on-call component as part of the assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative nursing care in the PACU, monitoring patient status, vital signs, and recovery progression
- Manage airway, breathing, circulation, and pain control; respond to emergent situations and escalate as needed
- Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders; document dosages, responses, and adverse events
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and nursing teams to ensure safe handoffs and continuity of care
- Prepare PACU environments, ensure equipment readiness, maintain sterile technique, and follow infection control protocols
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record; communicate relevant information to family and care teams
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license required
- Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN)
- Experience: PACU/pre-op or perioperative nursing experience preferred
- Ability to perform in a rural hospital setting and participate in on-call coverage
- Commitment to department education sessions and ongoing professional development
