Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) Manager, Travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, CA. Start date: June 8, 2026. 13-week contract. Pay range: $2,989 to $3,075 per week. Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week. Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts with some visibility for evening staff. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This position supports L&D leadership with a focus on day shift while providing some evening coverage and weekend call.

Responsibilities
- Lead the Labor and Delivery/unit nursing team, including staffing, scheduling, and resource management for optimal patient flow
- Ensure patient safety and care quality by enforcing BLS, NRP, and EFM protocols; support adherence to unit policies
- Collaborate with obstetric physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary teams to coordinate labor, delivery, and post-partum care
- Provide staff development, coaching, and performance feedback; foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Participate in weekend on-call coverage (every 3rd weekend) and maintain day-to-day operational visibility for evening staff
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required); Master’s Degree preferred
- L&D background with 10 years of leadership experience (Required)
- 2+ years of acute care hospital nursing experience (Preferred)
- 5+ years of technical experience (Preferred); 1+ year of leadership experience (Preferred)
- BLS, NRP, and EFM required; national specialty certification in area of expertise or nursing administration preferred
- Ability to work in a 40-hour weekly schedule with on-call responsibilities as described
