Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department, ER specialty in Atchison, Kansas, United States. This is a travel - temporary assignment starting 04/28/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay: $2,113–$2,177 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12 Nights. Setting: a critical access hospital emergency department dedicated to 24/7 patient care.

- No float to other departments unless there is an emergency (code blue/rapid response)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a busy ED, including triage, initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, and re-assessment of acuity levels.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders; monitor responses and adjust as needed.
- Collaborate with the ED provider, in-house lab, radiology, and cardiopulmonary services to support timely diagnostics and interventions.
- Manage acute events (codes, rapid responses) and assist with airway management and other critical procedures as required.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain certification requirements and operate within a fast-paced rural ED environment that sees approximately 800 patients per month.
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (required)
- ER nursing experience preferred; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity ED setting
- Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and to respond to emergencies as needed
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and use in-house support services
