Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel assignment in Burlington, VT, starting 05/04/2026 for 4 weeks, 3x12 Night shifts in a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,163 to $2,305 per week. This position requires a nurse who can work in a high-acuity environment on a rotating schedule, with additional weekend commitments.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult cardiac patients in PCU, including monitoring telemetry and hemodynamics, and delivering evidence-based nursing interventions.
- Manage post-operative cardiac patients (CABG Day 1, open or closed chest) and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
- Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and monitor for complications while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Chart and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the Epic electronic medical record; communicate changes to the care team.
- Float to similar units as needed and maintain clinical competency across related telemetry, telemetry/surgical, and telemedicine-focused care areas.
- Adhere to unit policies, participate in weekend schedules, and meet performance expectations in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Requirements
- Active RN license with license on file at submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; at least 1 year in a PCU/step-down or similar cardiac-focused unit
- Cardiac-focused background with recent large trauma Level 1 experience within the last year; post-op 1 day hearts open/closed experience
- NIHSS required; BLS and ACLS completed; PCCN preferred (NIHSS required prior to start)
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Cardiothoracic and vascular experience; A-line experience preferred, but candidates with CABG post-op Day 1 experience may be considered without A-line
- Ability to work in a high-acuity hospital setting; willing to float to like units as needed
- Reliable transportation is required due to limited public transit options in the area
