Responsibilities
- Provide competent respiratory care per department policy, including airway management, ventilator initiation and monitoring, suctioning, and assistance with intubation as needed.
- Monitor patient respiratory status, interpret flow-volume and pressure-volume curves, adjust therapies, and assess arterial blood gas results to guide treatment.
- Administer medications and therapies through appropriate devices; translate respiratory medication dosing for neonatal and pediatric patients as patient size and condition require.
- Verify physician orders, document all Respiratory Care procedures, and ensure accurate handoffs and timely reporting of patient status during rounds and shift changes.
- Maintain and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment, adhere to infection control and PPE requirements, and participate in staff orientation and training as needed.

Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a COARC-approved Respiratory Care Program with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential (NBRC). High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certifications: NBRC CRT credential; BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire); NRP certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of hospital-based respiratory care experience; pulmonary diagnostics preferred; cardiac diagnostics (EKG, Holter, stress testing) preferred.
- Licensure/Work Authorization: Must be able to legally work in the United States; pass a background check and drug screen.
- Scheduling: Ability to work nights in a short-term acute care setting.
