Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive ED nursing care for patients from newborns to geriatrics, including triage, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Review and execute patient orders promptly; deliver medication and treatment education, including discharge instructions.
- Detect and respond to cardiac or respiratory distress; interpret ECG rhythms and manage life-threatening emergencies; support monitoring and lead management decisions.
- Participate in Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations with appropriate nursing interventions.
- Perform essential nursing skills: medication administration, IV therapy (including blood products), care of indwelling catheters and drains, safe use of critical care equipment; follow established chain of command.
- Maintain accurate, legible documentation and ensure patient safety throughout care transitions; adapt care as needed within a fast-paced ED environment.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of practice (California).
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in Emergency/Acute Care; at least 1 year in an acute care setting.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire or transfer; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required; EPIC experience preferred.
- Additional: Ability to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department; night shift availability; ability to meet facility-specific credentialing and orientation requirements.
