Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions; assess needs and develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Monitor patient progress, analyze data, and adjust care plans as conditions change; administer medications and therapies per order; document findings timely and accurately
- Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment plan, self-care after discharge, and when to seek medical attention; support discharge planning and follow‑up resources
- Promote a healing environment by ensuring safety, comfort, infection prevention, and compassionate communication; advocate for patient rights and preferences
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the health care team; participate in rounds, care conferences, and care coordination activities
Requirements
- NYS Registered Nurse licensure (active)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Ability to work rotating day/night shifts, including holidays and weekends
