Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, and mobility.
- Support safe transfers and mobility using appropriate devices and techniques; assist with positioning and range-of-motion as directed.
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to the nursing team promptly; observe for signs of distress or decline.
- Perform routine vitals and document findings according to the care plan and facility policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable resident environment; adhere to infection prevention and OSHA safety standards.
- Communicate with residents and family members in a respectful, compassionate manner; collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans.
Requirements
- Active CNA certification in Maine (state licensure or certification required)
- Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred
- Ability to work evenings (2:00 PM–10:15 PM) and adapt to assignment scheduling
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
- Physical stamina to assist with lifting, transfers, and daily resident care
- Ability to comply with facility policies and participate in ongoing training as needed
