Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg in Atlanta, Georgia. This travel assignment begins June 15, 2026 and runs for eight weeks with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shifts are 2x3 Nights in a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $1,584 to $1,606. The unit is a high-acuity surgical/trauma floor caring for postoperative patients as well as gun-shot and neurological injury cases such as quadriplegia and paraplegia. The role requires EPIC electronic medical record usage and a focus on safe, efficient patient care and handoffs.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for high-acuity surgical and trauma patients on a medical-surgical floor
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor vital signs, assess patient condition, and implement care plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure safe patient flow
- Perform and document ongoing assessments in EPIC, including changes in status, pain management, and interventions
- Conduct or participate in nurse handoffs between ED, admitting units, and receiving floors as part of patient transitions
- Work with Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and a night unit secretary to support patient care and throughput
- Maintain patient safety and adherence to unit protocols in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of med-surg experience on high-acuity or trauma-focused units
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to work night shift and the 2x3 schedule; demonstrated resilience in fast-paced settings
- Ability to care for a patient population including postoperative surgical patients, trauma cases, and complex neurological injuries
