Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients within a hospital setting, including monitoring, assessments, and interventions per care plans.
- Document care in the electronic medical record (Epic) and communicate changes in patient status with the care team.
- Float between medical floor and surgical/oncology units as assigned, maintaining patient safety and quality standards.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with policy, safety guidelines, and physician orders; manage routine wound care and routine procedures as delegated.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, participate in rounds, and communicate with patients, families, and physicians to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Adhere to unit protocols, safety, infection control practices, and BLS requirements; uphold professional standards and report concerns promptly.
Requirements
- 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience; prior travel experience preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Epic EMR experience or strong familiarity with Epic workflows
- Ability to float between medical and surgical/oncology units as part of the float pool
- Willingness to work a 12-hour night shift schedule and to comply with the assignment’s terms, including travel and relocation requirements and the 200-mile radius rule
- Active RN license to practice, with eligibility or current status in the applicable state (Montana preferred)
