Responsibilities
- Provide registered nurse first assist (RNFA) duties during cardiac procedures, including chest exposure and wound closure.
- Independently perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) when required.
- Assist with DaVinci robotic cardiac cases when needed.
- Scrub for and circulate complex cardiac cases, including CABGs, structural heart procedures, minimally invasive valve procedures, and heart failure surgeries.
- Support heart transplant activity as available; collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
- New York State RN license (active)
- CNOR certification
- 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to work in a cardiac operating room environment and support on-call requirements
