Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care on Med Surg Tele units, including monitoring patient status and responding to changes in condition.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor for adverse effects, and document in the medical record using EPIC EMR.
- Perform ongoing assessments, vital signs, wound care as indicated, and participate in care planning with the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and support staff to coordinate safe discharge planning and patient education.
- Prioritize patient safety, infection control, and emergency response per hospital protocols; recognize and escalate concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, ensure continuity of care, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- 2+ years of Med Surg Tele experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- EPIC EMR experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a hospital setting
- Willingness to travel; must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment location
- High level of professionalism, good communication, and ability to work within a team
