- On-call requirements: 2 days per week and 1–2 weekends per month
Responsibilities
- Aid physicians in diagnosing and treating heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders by performing invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular and pulmonary tests.
- Operate x-ray and physiological equipment, including C-arm systems and angiographic injectors; record results and support documentation for procedures.
- Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; maintain equipment and ensure accurate records of test results.
- Maintain proper sterile techniques, follow infection control protocols, and apply radiation safety measures (collimation, shielding, immobilization).
- Monitor patient vital signs throughout procedures; provide radiation protection for patients and staff; support patient safety and comfort.
- Scrub for and assist during complex procedures in structural heart, vascular, diagnostic, impella, ECMO, and emergent cath cases; collaborate with Cardiologist and Radiologist; document findings in EPIC.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic preventive maintenance on cardiovascular imaging equipment; report malfunctions and support equipment readiness.
Requirements
- Education: Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience (preferred)
- Licenses/Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography) required; Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in CA required; Current CA fluoroscopy license required within 6 months of hire; CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor required
- Experience: At least 2 years of recent cath lab experience; demonstrated ability to scrub and monitor structural heart, vascular, diagnostic, impella, ECMO, and emergent cath cases
- Certifications/Systems: EPIC experience preferred
- Additional: Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting; on-call schedule of 2 days per week and 1–2 weekends per month; willing to travel and relocate to Saint Helena, CA
