Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients in the post-anesthesia recovery unit under medical staff direction, following policies and care plans.
- Maintain unit-specific competencies for critically ill patients; participate in quality improvement efforts; complete clinical documentation and care plans in a timely manner.
- Communicate patient information effectively during handoffs, rounds, and physician interactions to support continuity and patient safety.
- Promote a safe environment by following established protocols, supporting patient safety initiatives, and contributing to Just Culture practices; escalate issues through the chain of command.
- Conduct hourly rounding in collaboration with licensed nursing assistants; identify and address patient safety concerns; collaborate across departments to resolve conflicts and improve care.
- Assist with procedural nursing duties as appropriate, including involvement with Flow wire, Opsens and IVUS procedures; demonstrate knowledge of contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion; safely administer procedural sedation and document sedation per policy; participate in ongoing sedation competency activities.

Requirements
- Active New Hampshire RN license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required (except for Pre-Admission Testing and Operating Room)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained prior to orientation
- NHISS certification preferred or obtained prior to orientation
- 3 years of critical care experience preferred
- Graduate of an approved nursing program preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital PACU environment and meet unit requirements
