Responsibilities
- Deliver perioperative nursing care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain sterile technique, manage equipment and supplies, and assist the surgical team during procedures in the OR.
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, and anesthesia-related concerns; respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Document care in the medical record and communicate with patients, families, and team members to support informed decision-making.
- Uphold professional practice standards guided by applicable nursing acts and ethics; contribute to evidence-based practice and quality improvement efforts.
- Support patient safety and service-excellence goals while protecting patients’ rights and listening to the patient and family voice.
Requirements
- Active Georgia Registered Nurse license to practice
- Graduation from an approved nursing program
- Knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique; ability to work in a high-acuity OR setting
- Ability to work four 10-hour day shifts per week
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; commitment to professional ethics and patient advocacy
- Perioperative/OR experience is preferred and aligns with the role expectations
