Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit, including assessment, monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, and basic wound care
- Document care in the electronic medical record; ensure accuracy and timely updates
- Assist with procedures, respond to changes in patient condition, and participate in rounds with the care team
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other staff; contribute to discharge planning and patient education
- Maintain infection control standards and patient safety; willing to float to other departments in rotation as needed
- Exhibit teamwork and professionalism, with flexibility to adapt to unit needs
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Washington State or valid multi-state license with WA verification: approved 6-hour suicide training; demographics verification from Nursys
- Current BLS and ACLS certification; NIHSS training is preferred or knowledge is helpful; not required
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work in a hospital environment; adaptable to rotating shifts and floating
- Willing to participate in a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week
