Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations across Abdomen (Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, Renal) and related pathology, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Neonatal, superficial structures, and vascular studies as described.
- Acquire, optimize, and document ultrasound images; assist radiologist with interpretation and clinical correlation.
- Execute procedures as appropriate, including aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative imaging.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and comfort; position patients correctly and communicate findings to the care team.
- Utilize equipment and systems: Canon i700; Meditech EMR; Fuji Synapse PACS; ensure accurate data capture and image transfer.
- May float to other units/departments as needed; adhere to dress code of personal scrubs and professional attire.
Requirements
- Active ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), and Vascular Technology (RVT).
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience performing ultrasound studies in an acute care environment.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule and float to other units as required.
- Proficiency in abdomen, pelvis, OB/GYN, neonatal, and vascular ultrasound studies; ability to identify normal findings and pathology.
- Familiarity with Canon i700 ultrasound equipment, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS (or willingness to train).
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend an employee health appointment; must be available to begin on the scheduled date.
