Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of ultrasound examinations across abdomen (Aorta, IVC, liver/biliary, pancreas, spleen, kidneys), gynecologic imaging (breast, ovaries/adnexa, uterus, pelvis), obstetric imaging (1st–3rd trimesters, amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IUGR, uterus/adnexa), neonatal imaging including head, and assessment of superficial structures (abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum/testes, thyroid); and vascular studies (carotid duplex, segmental pressures, upper and lower extremity duplex).
- Perform procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative ultrasound as required; document findings for radiologist interpretation.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment (Canon i700; Fuji Synapse PACS) and document examinations in the Meditech EMR; communicate results clearly to the care team.
- Maintain sterile technique, patient safety, and comfort; adapt to an on-call and rotating schedule; participate in floating to other units as needed.
- Ensure accurate patient positioning, probe selection, and image optimization to support diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
Requirements
- ARDMS certification in AB, OB, and RVT
- Active BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 3 years of full-time sonography experience in an acute hospital setting
- Prior contract/travel experience preferred
- Proficiency with ultrasound hardware/software and related systems (Canon i700, Meditech EMR, Fuji Synapse PACS) preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital-based setting with flexibility to float to other units and to participate in on-call coverage
