Registered Nurse - ER, travel assignment in Hamburg, Iowa. Start date: May 26, 2026. Contract duration: 16 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,041 to $2,217 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Responsibilities
- Serve as supervisor/charge nurse for Med Surg and ER, guiding patient care and unit operations during assigned shifts.
- Provide hands-on RN care in ER and Med Surg as needed, including patient assessment, monitoring, and timely interventions.
- Lead nursing staff, assign tasks, monitor performance, and support orientation of junior staff and students.
- Collaborate with physicians, discharge planners, and ancillary teams to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Ensure patient safety and quality of care by adhering to clinical standards, documentation requirements, and regulatory policies; manage handoffs and shift reports.
- Maintain patient flow and bed management by prioritizing care needs and responding to emergent situations across units.
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC current and active.
- OB/Newborn Stabilization education/training submitted or available for review.
- Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience in acute care settings, with exposure to ER and Med Surg preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet the 16-week assignment requirement; ability to travel for this travel assignment.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in emergency and medical-surgical nursing, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
