Travel Respiratory Therapist (Registered) opportunity in Middlebury, VT, starting 09/28/2026 for 16 weeks. You’ll earn $2,618 to $2,722 per week with 12-hour night shifts (3x12). Set on a 25-bed critical access inpatient unit, this role supports a Respiratory Therapy service with cross-floor coverage as needed. This is a travel - temporary assignment suitable for a dedicated RT with strong ICU/ED exposure and a willingness to float to multiple units.

Responsibilities
- Deliver prescribed respiratory care modalities, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, airway clearance, bronchodilator therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
- Monitor, adjust, and wean ventilator support as directed; perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis; respond to respiratory distress with appropriate interventions.
- Administer oxygen therapy and aerosolized medications; document patient response and modify therapy accordingly.
- Document all patient care in the Epic system; coordinate with nurses and physicians to ensure safe, effective treatment plans.
- Float to designated units (medical/surgical, emergency department, birthing center) as needed to support patient care and unit workflow.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment, ensure hygiene and safety standards, and participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Vermont state licensure as a respiratory care practitioner
- Certification: Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (or eligible to take NBRC written exam); NBRC verification required
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, and NRP required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years clinical experience; minimum 2 years in respiratory therapy specialty; NICU experience within the last year
- Documentation and systems: Epic experience within the past 2 years
- Education: Not specified in notes
- Ability to work in a hospital inpatient setting with floating to multiple units as needed
- Scheduling: Availability to work a 12-hour night shift with at least every other weekend and 2 of 4 holidays required
