Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients in the PCU, including regular assessments, monitoring vital signs, and prompt response to changes in condition.
- Administer prescribed medications, manage IV therapy, and monitor responses; interpret basic telemetry as needed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans.
- Document accurately in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and policy standards.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge expectations; coordinate with case management for discharge planning.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- PCU or progressive care/step-down experience preferred.
- Ability to work 8-hour daytime shifts on a 5x8 schedule.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in travel assignment and adapt quickly to new teams and environments.
