Registered Nurse – Med Surg Stroke Stepdown in Utica, NY. Start date: 04/27/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay range: $2,174 to $2,220 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: Night, 2x3 schedule. Unit is a hospital-based, 64-bed Med Surg Stroke Stepdown setting with floating required.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult patients on the Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit
- Monitor and document neurological status, vital signs, and changes in patient condition; respond to emergencies per protocol
- Administer medications, manage IV pumps, and handle enteral feeding tubes and NG tubes as needed
- Implement stroke protocols, prevent complications, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
- Assist with patient education, discharge planning, and coordination with physicians, therapists, and case management
- Document in EPIC and ensure accurate, timely charting; maintain unit safety and infection control practices
Requirements
- Active NY Registered Nurse license (NURSYS verification) and current license in good standing
- 2+ years of Med Surg experience with stroke stepdown; travel experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification; NIHSS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start (NIHSS is required for this unit)
- EMR experience, specifically EPIC
- Driver’s license with address matching demographics
- Floating capability and flexibility to work across related med-surg tasks
- RTO request must be included at time of submission
