Responsibilities
- Deliver emergency nursing care as part of a float pool, supporting ER patients during night shifts
- Conduct initial assessments, triage, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring; administer medications and IV therapy as ordered
- Operate telemetry and monitor patient status, respond to acute changes, and manage code events per protocol
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary services, and care teams; document care in the electronic health record and ensure accurate handoffs
- Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and safety policies (AHA BLS/ACLS, Fire and Life Safety standards)
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning as appropriate
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- AHA BLS Certification
- AHA ACLS Certification
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card
- Minimum 3 years ER nursing experience
- Recent ER experience within the last 3 months
- Ability to work in a high-acuity ER float pool environment and adapt to a home healthcare - hospice setting
