Travel Registered Nurse Charge Acute Care Job
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Charge Acute Care) – Penn Yan, New York. Start date: August 17, 2026. Travel assignment lasting 22–26 weeks with a flexible end date and a requirement to run through holidays. Flexible shift options with an approximate 36 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in the ED, including initial triage, primary assessment, and ongoing monitoring for patients across all age groups.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and suitable invasive/non-invasive treatments; respond to life-threatening emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians and the care team to prioritize care, implement interventions, and evaluate patient progress.
- Educate patients and families, prepare for procedures, and coordinate discharge planning or referrals for post-ED care.
- Maintain infection prevention practices, patient safety, pain management, and comfort; communicate clearly with patients and families throughout the ED stay.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS required; Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI) required
- NIHSS knowledge or credential required
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience
- RN degree from an accredited nursing program; ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment
- Willingness to work in a travel assignment with a flexible shift pattern, including holidays
