Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients on a fast-paced admission unit
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, administer medications and treatments, and respond to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; manage rapid patient turnover while maintaining quality of care
- Document accurately in the electronic health record; ensure safety, infection control, and patient education
- Support patients and families with discharge planning and education on medications and post-hospital care
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (Georgia) with Nursys verification
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg RN experience
- Ability to work in a high-volume, rapid-admission unit with a patient load around 5:1
- Must be available for mandatory holiday coverage: Thanksgiving or the day after; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
- Resume with no gaps greater than 60 days
