Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients on a rapid-admission unit, including frequent patient turnover
- Perform patient assessments, monitor vitals, administer prescribed medications, and manage IV therapy and basic wound care
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge planning; educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge needs
- Maintain infection control practices, patient safety, and standard precautions; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (GA) or eligibility for GA licensure; BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience
- Ability to work in a high-volume, rapid-admission Med/Surg unit with a 5:1 patient ratio; capable of independent decision-making and clear communication
- Willingness to fulfill mandatory holiday coverage (Thanksgiving or day after) and either Christmas Eve/Day or New Year’s Eve/Day
- Candidate materials to prepare: resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, Skills Checklist, References, Certification Card, and Nursys license verification
