Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit for adult patients.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms via telemetry, identify rhythm changes, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and carry out routine nursing procedures per plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to implement care plans; participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Ensure patient safety and adhere to infection control, fall prevention, and other safety protocols; respond to emergencies as needed.
- Document care activities in the electronic health record, maintain accurate vital signs and medication reconciliation, and support efficient patient flow.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Hawaii or eligible for licensure by endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of recent med-surg telemetry RN experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (7a–7p or 7p–7a)
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
