Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, travel assignment in Rochester, NY. Start date 05/11/2026 for 13 weeks. Earn $2,023–$2,164 per week. Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/evenings/nights). Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients, with emphasis on ortho trauma and post-operative spinal surgery cases
- Monitor telemetry patients, assess rhythms, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, pain management, wound care, and post-op orders per physician protocol
- Perform formal assessments, develop and update care plans, document in the electronic medical record, and communicate changes to the care team
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, participate in rounds, discharge planning, and on-call/charge nurse processes
- Educate patients and families on procedures, treatments, mobility, pain control, and discharge instructions
Requirements
- RN license, active in New York
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Orthopedic experience required; minimum 2 years preferred
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts with rotating days, evenings, and nights; available for weekends/holidays as needed
